Panna Tiger Reserve, located in the Vindhya Hills of northern Madhya Pradesh, is a vital tiger habitat set amidst fragile yet dynamic dry deciduous forests. The reserve is defined by vast plateaus, deep gorges, and the enchanting Ken River, which adds unmatched beauty to the landscape. Known for its stunning waterfalls, natural charm, archaeological wonders, legends, and cultural heritage, Panna is truly captivating. Natural boundaries surround the reserve—teak forests to the north and teak-kardhai mixed forests to the east—while the Vindhya ranges running northeast to southwest connect eastern and western wildlife populations.
Panna Tiger Reserve hosts rich flora and fauna, with tigers, leopards, wild dogs, wolves, hyenas, sloth bears, and deer like sambar, chital, and chowsingha. Blue bull and chinkara roam the grasslands, while over 200 bird species, including vultures, storks, parakeets, and migratory geese, enrich its skies..
